Remember the Kinks 1970 hit LOLA?
The original version used the name COCA COLA. The BBC said they could not air the song because the name was seen as a “product placement”, so Ray Davies got on a plane and traveled 6000 miles from New York to London and back to record CHERRY COLA, so the song could be aired in England. The song went to #2 there, and peaked at #9 here.
