July 9th is National Sugar Cookie Day! Today, we honor a cookie that is simple and straightforward, but totally delicious.

: sugar, flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, and baking powder. Although sugar cookies by themselves can be quite plain, they are incredibly versatile.

Use cookie cutters to create shaped sugar cookies, and top them with frosting or sprinkles. You can also make cookie sandwiches with two sugar cookies and fillings like marshmallow, melted chocolate, or jam. To celebrate National Sugar Cookie Day, make a batch of homemade sugar cookies to share with friends and coworkers...or just buy some!

Jaime was so lucky to have the opportunity to chat with Hallmark superstar Ashley Williams!  Andrea from our sister station The Cat, also joined into the fun as she is a Hallmark superfan!  Ashley was so nice and kind. Listen to the interview and hear her talk about her Hallmark shows and movies, her sister, how she became an entertainment mogul, and whether or not her sister, Kimberly, spilled any tea about the Taylor Swift wedding.  Check it out below and then listen Thursday morning for your chance to win a pair of tickets to Hallmark live!

1950 Autocar

Bill Williams

Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 12:49pm

This past weekend I visited the FASNY Firefighters Museum in Hudson. I was very happy to see the antique firetruck I drove at one of my past radio stations, for 10 years.

The 1950 Autocar fire engine, which was first used in Colonie, and then Earlton in Greene County, was acquired by the radio station I was working at in 1992 to be used a remote broadcast vehicle.

It was quite different driving it, as you had to “double clutch” and allow a little more distance to stop. Another feature was absolutely no heat in it, which made winter events interesting.

The truck made its last run in August 2001, while traveling up route 81 in Greenville, it died. Repairs would have been too expensive, so I approached the museum to see if they would consider taking it, being Autocar fire engines were rare, and I would rather have it in a museum than rusting away in a junkyard. And here it is, 25 years later.

July 7th is National Strawberry Sundae Day! If you’re looking for the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day, then look no further. A strawberry sundae made with ice cream, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries will do the trick!

Did you know that

, and are the only fruit with seeds on the outside? Another fun fact is that eating eight strawberries will give kids more than enough of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C!

July 2nd is Made In The USA Day! A poll by Reuters found that 70% of Americans this it's "very important" or "somewhat important" to purchase American-made products. And many Americans say they’d also be willing to pay more for stuff that’s made here.

Now, it’s not difficult to figure out what this day “is,” but for many folks, it’s a pain to actually participate. After all, the majority of the products we come in contact with aren’t made here. Heck – the fish at your local supermarket often comes from somewhere else!

What to do? Pay attention! READ labels! And when it comes to food, SHOP LOCAL! Not sure where the Farmer’s Markets are? Where to get the good stuff? Visit LocalHarvest.org or EatLocalGrown.com. What about other goods? Try www.MadeInAmerica.co or IBuyAmericanStore.com. Bottom line? Sure, it may take a little legwork to get started, but once you’re in…
