[WATCH] Make Your Own Eclipse Viewer Step-by-Step

NBC News via YouTube

You probably have all the items handy

As the Capital Region gets ready for Monday's solar eclipse, one of the things we keep hearing is 'don't look directly at it'. The suns rays will still be coming through the atmosphere, even with the moon totally covering it.

If you don't have the recommended eyewear, you can still view the eclipse safely with a homemade viewer.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Cardboard box
  • White sheet of paper
  • Aluminum foil
  • A pushpin or tack
  • Tape
  • Scissors

The video below shows how to put it all together in just minutes.
