Project: Cameron's Story is Seeking Your Help

With your help, every family in NICU's across New York State can still bond with their baby.

This week an organization is seeking new books that goes towards NICU's across Eastern New York State.

The organization is Project: Cameron's Story, which is named after a child who was in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).  Doctors and nurses wanted to keep the child in a womb-like environment, preventing the mother from being able to hold her child.  She wanted a way to bond with her child so she brought picture books and read them to her child.  And now she's wanting others to experience that opportunity to connect with their child when they cannot hold them.

So this week they are seeking 31,000 new books for 22 NICU's across New York State, including Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital, the Special Care Unit at Glens Falls Hospital and others.  To donate, you can scan the QR code on the poster below, or by going to the Project: Cameron's Story website.

But you only have until February 20th to donate.

Check out their coverage from CBS 6 Albany.
