As the 2025-26 High School Sports calendar nears its end, championships will be handed out this upcoming week

It's that time of the year -- the weather is warmer and spring high school sports are at the Sectional Championships.

Here's a breakdown of all the games coming up for our local Section 2 teams.

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL:
The Sectional Championships for Flag Football were handled last week over at CBA High School in Colonie.  Shaker is your Section 2 Champions in Class A, defeating Colonie for the championship.  In Class B, top seeded Troy fell to Columbia.  And Catskill claims the Class C championship after beating Holy Trinity.

Next up, the NYSPHSAA Tournament:

CLASS A: Shaker vs. Section 3's Champion, Friday, May 29th at 7PM at SUNY Morrisville
CLASS B: Columbia vs. Section 3's Fayetteville-Manlius, Friday, May 29th at 5PM at SUNY Morrisville
CLASS C: Catskill vs. Section 7's Northeastern Clinton, Saturday, May 30th at 6:30pm at Ausable High School

The State Semifinals and Finals will be the weekend of June 6th and 7th, at Cortland High School and Homer High School.
