Golden Oldies - La La Brooks
LaLa Brooks is best known as the original lead singer of the legendary 1960s girl group The Crystals. As a teenager, her powerful voice helped drive some of the group’s biggest hits, including “Da Doo Ron Ron” and “Then He Kissed Me,” both produced by famed music producer Phil Spector during the height of the Wall of Sound era. Brooks became a standout voice of the early rock and roll and pop scene, helping define the sound of girl groups in the 1960s. Today, LaLa Brooks continues to perform the classic songs that made her famous, bringing the energy and style of that unforgettable era to audiences across the country. Fans of classic pop and oldies music still recognize her voice as one of the most memorable from the golden age of girl groups.
